IT Support/Application Specialist Position

The IT Support position will work with our attorneys, staff and and our outside IT vendors to provide end user technical and hardware support services, help maintain the computer equipment and networks, and ensure the IT systems, software, and related equipment run smoothly. IT Support monitors and maintains the company computer systems, installs and configures hardware and software, and solves technical problems, in addition to altering existing software, installing new software, and troubleshooting any problems related to performance of computer systems. Because of the nature of the job, some odd hours may be required.

IT Support duties and responsibilities of the job

  • Installing, altering, and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
  • Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
  • Providing technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone)
  • Train computer users
  • Install computer peripherals for users
  • Setting up accounts for new users
  • Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary
  • Testing new technology
  • Troubleshooting on-site and remote issues that may arise for users
  • Working with outside vendors to accomplish the above

IT Support job qualifications and requirements

An AA, AS, or BS degree or CompTIA A+ certification and at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above.

Conditions of Employment

  • Specialty licensure/certification may be required, as specified by the department.
  • Successful candidate may be subject to a criminal background check prior to starting work.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • No or very limited physical effort required.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds and/or standing and/or walking an average of four (4) hours per day.
