Sarah M. Dickhut

Sarah’s practice is focused on representing clients in patent prosecution and intellectual property litigation and compliance issues. Her practice primarily relates to chemical and biotechnology patent prosecution, plant patents and plant breeders’ rights, complex patent portfolio management, and data privacy/cybersecurity advising. Sarah represents clients within the United States and internationally, with patent prosecution experience in over 20 countries. She further handles all phases of litigation including legal analysis, motion practice, discovery, and settlement preparation.

Before joining McKee, Voorhees & Sease, Sarah worked for the University of Iowa’s Technology Transfer Office, the University of Iowa Research Foundation (UIRF), where she conducted market and legal analyses of emerging technologies and worked with University inventors seeking to commercialize their work. Her experience at the UIRF developed her ability to understand IP valuation for infant technologies as part of portfolio management, and furthered her understanding of inventors’ needs in securing intellectual property protection for their technologies.
