Effective Date: May 27, 2026
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern McKee, Voorhees & Sease PLC’s (“MVS,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) workforce SMS notification program (the “Program”), through which MVS sends internal workflow notifications by short message service (SMS) text message to firm personnel who voluntarily enroll.
The Program is referred to as the “MVS Workforce SMS Notification Program.”
The Program delivers voluntary SMS notifications to firm owners, attorneys, patent agents, legal staff, and administrative staff in connection with the firm’s internal workflow. Enrolled recipients may receive notifications including, but not limited to: office-closing and inclement-weather alerts; conflict-check-ready notifications for attorneys and patent agents; task and matter workspace due-date reminders; and other internal firm administrative updates generated by the firm’s internal practice-management platform, MaViS IP.
The Program is for internal firm use only. Messages are not sent to clients, opposing counsel, firm service providers, or members of the public. The general public cannot enroll in or opt in to the Program under any circumstance.
Participation in the Program is entirely voluntary. Enrollment is not a condition of employment, and no firm personnel are required to opt in. Eligibility is limited to current MVS owners, attorneys, patent agents, legal staff, and administrative staff who hold an active user account in the MaViS IP platform.
To enroll, an eligible person logs in to MaViS IP, navigates to the Settings page, provides their personal mobile telephone number, reviews these Terms, and affirmatively elects which notification categories they wish to receive. After enabling SMS notifications, the recipient receives a confirmation text message verifying enrollment. Enrollment date, time, mobile number, and selected notification categories are recorded by MaViS IP for audit purposes.
Recipients control which notification categories they receive. Each category can be individually enabled or disabled at any time through the MaViS IP Settings page. Available notification categories may include, without limitation: office-closing and weather alerts; conflict-check-ready notifications; task and matter workspace due-date reminders; and other internal firm administrative updates. The firm may add or modify notification categories over time; new categories are opt-in only and are not enabled by default.
Message frequency varies by recipient based on the notification categories the recipient has enabled and on ongoing firm workflow. Total volume is generally expected to remain within a low number of messages per recipient per business day. Recipients who enable fewer notification categories will receive correspondingly fewer messages.
Message and data rates may apply. Standard messaging rates from your wireless carrier may apply to messages sent and received under the Program. MVS does not charge any additional fee for participating in the Program or for receiving Program messages.
You may withdraw consent and stop receiving messages from the Program at any time, with no consequence to your employment or standing with the firm. To opt out, you may either: (a) reply STOP, CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, OPTOUT, or STOPALL to any message you receive; or (b) disable SMS notifications on the Settings page in MaViS IP. After you opt out by either method, no further messages will be sent to your number under the Program. You may also withdraw consent by contacting the firm’s Information Technology department directly.
Reply HELP or INFO to any message you receive for Program assistance information. You may also contact the support address listed in Section 9.
For questions about the Program, contact the firm’s Information Technology department at it@ipmvs.com or by telephone at (515) 288-3667.
Mobile telephone numbers provided for Program enrollment are used solely to deliver Program messages. MVS does not sell, rent, or share Program enrollee mobile numbers with third parties for marketing purposes. Mobile numbers may be processed by Twilio, Inc., the firm’s SMS delivery vendor, solely for the purpose of transmitting Program messages. Additional information about how MVS handles personal data is described in the firm’s Privacy Policy, available at https://www.ipmvs.com/privacy-policy/.
Enrollment in the Program ends automatically upon a recipient’s separation from MVS. Mobile numbers associated with separated personnel are removed from the active recipient list.
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
MVS reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Program at any time without notice. The most current version of these Terms will be posted at https://www.ipmvs.com/workforce-sms-terms/.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
