MVS Collaborating with BioConnect Iowa on the Iowa Go-To-Market (G2M) Accelerator ProgramApril 5, 2021

MVS is pleased to announce that we are working with BioConnect Iowa, an organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of Iowa’s bioscience sector, on the Iowa Go-To-Market Accelerator Program.

The Iowa Go-To-Market (IowaG2M) Accelerator Program, a partnership between BioConnect Iowa, the Iowa State University Startup Factory, and VentureNet Iowa, seeks to provide follow-on support for Iowa entrepreneurs who are developing technology-driven innovative products or services and need additional support to increase their likelihood of commercial success. The program was funded by a grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration.

MVS attorneys will serve as an advisor for certain startups throughout the six months in the accelerator program. We will be providing overall mentorship, business guidance and advice on legal issues that the company may encounter. One of the focal points will be on identifying intellectual property needs that may include patents (utility, design, and plant patents), trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. In addition, an MVS attorney may advise on any regulatory requirements that may result from research, use and sale of certain products especially with regard to the USDA, FDA, and EPA.

“We are excited to be participating in the IowaG2M Accelerator Program and we look forward to working with Iowa entrepreneurs who are on the forefront of developing the next generation of technology products and services,” stated Jill N. Link, Partner and Chair of the MVS Licensing Practice Group and a member of the BioConnect Iowa Board of Directors.
