ALERT: Update on Floods of Des MoinesJune 13, 2008

Despite the record-breaking flooding occurring in Des Moines as well as much of Iowa, the offices of McKee, Voorhees & Sease, PLC will continue to operate as systems allow. There have been threats of power shut down to parts of the city due to flood waters seeping into underground cable vaults. As of noon, Friday, June 13, MVS is still operational and we expect that we will remain unaffected in the short term. However, the Army Corps of Engineers is predicting peak flows on Saturday, June 14 and the rivers will crest Sunday, June 15, so there is a possibility the situation may become more precarious jeopardizing business-as-usual. Rest assured, with our technology well secured in our offices on the 32nd floor, there is no imminent danger to clients files and matters. We hope to remain available to serve our clients and thank you for your patience during this trying time. We also thank our employees who have taken the time to help our community and other areas of the state by devoting their time to bagging sand and other flood-relief efforts.
